New link blog
I’ve created a new iPhone and iPad development link blog at http://heroicautobot.tumblr.com. It’s mainly intended for students in my iPhone SDK Programming class, but other folks may also find it useful as well.
Enjoy.

Inspired by Jessica.
During my last semester of college I was a juggler and a clown in a circus. I almost didn’t graduate because I spent so much time at rehearsals.
I also almost didn’t graduate because I took too many math credits and couldn’t count them all towards my total needed to graduate. A last minute independent project saved me.
Jo and I have been using What to Expect the Toddler Years as the instruction manual for The Toddler. It’s a pretty good book, and it has milestones for each month so you can tell how your kid is tracking against expectations.
I’m at home sick today, so I figured that I’d document how my brain works when I’m not feeling well. I still have a headache as I’m writing this (and at time also have The Toddler on my lap) so it may be a bit incoherent. Please accept my apologies in advance.
This is an actual email thread from today, slightly edited for clarity and to protect the innocent. I should note that Steve is from New York.

Subject: Junior’s Cheesecake in the kitchen…courtesy of XXXXXXXX, who helped us XXXXXXXXXXXX. We paid them thousands of $$ for XXXXX and XXXXX, and they threw in a cheesecake.
Seriously, it’s a good cheesecake, a proper NY-style cake with raspberry swirl.

P.S. A bonus slice for the person who knows what the distinguishing feature of a true NY Cheesecake is.
Derek Del Conte has started a Seattle iPhone Developer Group at Google Groups.
Derek is one of the two founders of Innerfence, whom I met at the Seattle iPhone Tech Talk. (Technically, we met at the gathering the night before.) He’s a smart and insightful guy who knows many of the ins and outs of developing iPhone apps, especially dealing with submission / approval process.
Should be an interesting group.
If you are a Mac (or iPhone) developer, I highly recommend getting a subscription to the Mac Developer Network Access to the Developer Lives podcast is worth the price alone, but you also get free and discounted software.
If you are even thinking of considering of toying with the idea of getting a membership, you should do it today. A little birdy told me that the price will be going up once the site comes back from a hiatus that starts tomorrow.
